Ronald “Khalis” Bell (a.k.a. Khalis Bayyan) qui ont formé
Kool & The Gang à la fin des années '60. En '72 les frères Bell et leurs cousins qui jouaient dans Kool & The Gang ont joint Nation Of Islam et ont adopté le nom islamique "Bayyan". Avant de devenir producteur/compositeur Amir Bayyan chantait et jouait dans Kool & The Gang. En 1981 Amir Bayyan a commencé à produire de la musique et a formé son propre groupe
